1)         Kalil & LaCount recently assisted a client in the $3.6 million dollar acquisition of a major European brand car dealership in Rockingham County.  We were involved in all aspects of the transaction from negotiating the purchase and sale agreement, to reviewing title and issuing title insurance, to conducting the closing.

2)         Our firm has initiated a lawsuit against a supermarket chain regarding a food poisoning incident where our client suffered serious injuries from purchasing food from an open salad bar. Open food bars require maintenance and care that are often neglected.  The Center for Disease Control and Prevention found that 1 in 6 Americans consume contaminated food or beverages each year. Incidents of food poisoning hospitalize over 100,000 people each year, many of which could be prevented with proper care. In order to successfully prosecute this litigation, we need to prove liability through the use of experts and gather medical records to establish damages. We are well on our way to reaching a beneficial outcome for our client.

3)         In the first quarter of 2017, the firm closed several multimillion dollar commercial real estate transactions for clients such as Eastern Bank and Optima Bank. Many of these transactions involved SBA participation and were part of a 1031 exchange.
